John Griswold will discuss the history of pulse oximetry technology, pulse oximetry technology advancements, and alarms management.

Attendees will learn from a senior healthcare technology management responsible for system-wide standardized, clinical review, and alarms management.

Nebraska Medical Center Omaha, Nebraska .

Assigned to Respiratory Care equipment since 1987; Responsible for the Biomedical evaluation of clinical devices under consideration or trial by Respiratory Care.

In August 2000, an initiative was launched to improve and standardize SpO2 monitoring organization wide. Mr. Griswold was asked to evaluate, and interface existing recorders and remote alarm systems, to Pulse Oximeters from three manufactures.

In December 2001,

Nebraska Medical Center standardized to Masimo SpO2.

Mr. Griswold served on several committees and task forces preparing for standardization and upgrade of all physiological monitoring.

In April 2005, all physiological monitors were replaced with on-board Masimo SpO2, organization wide.

Mr. Griswold has been involved with the planning and installation in all stages.

John has assisted Masimo with installations, initial biomedical technical in-services, and lectures with Masimo’s Speakers Bureau.
